I ended my practice as dermatologist at Carolus Hospital on June 1, 2002. This came as a surprise to many, which is quite understandable: I was only 51 years old at the time, much too young to retire. I would like to tell you a bit more about the how and why of my decision to stop and about how I said goodbye.
