Over the years I have won a number of awards and reived some distinctions. The awards include the Leo Dermatology Award 2000, the one-off award 'Most GP-friendly specialist' of the GP Association 's-Hertogenbosch in 1995, and the proclamation of my article Allergic contact dermatitis from topical drugs: An overview to 'Review article of the year' in the American journal Dermatitis in 2021.

The distinctions include honorary memberships of the American Contact Dermatitis Society (2019) and the European Society of Contact Dermatitis (2022), and the American Contact Dermatitis Society President's Citation in 2021.
